It may be the most obvious, but it is often the most overlooked. Like oxygen, water is essential to life. The trillions of cells in your body are comprised of water. 70% of your body and 80% of your brain is water. Your blood and muscles largely consist of water. The discs in your spine are 70% water - even your bone cells contain water. Thus, your vast internal river of water plays a vital role in nearly every important function, including energy production, digestion, circulation, absorption and excretion. Water flushes toxins out of the body, is responsible for transporting nutrients and oxygen within the body, protects your vital organs, and helps regulate normal body temperature. Nothing can take the place of water. Without water you wouldn’t survive more than three to five days.
Avoid Dehydration - Sweating, elimination and breathing deplete water from your body. If you aren’t drinking enough water daily, you may suffer from mild dehydration which could cause you to feel hungry or experience headaches, fatigue, irritability, confusion, bowel and bladder issues, or metabolic conditions. Thus, your health depends on taking in adequate amounts of pure water to maintain proper hydration.
Joint Health - Water assists in the healing of your joints. When dehydrated, your spinal discs become harder to heal and more prone to damage. Dehydration can contribute to joint stiffness, aches and pain, and impair mobility. Don’t wait until thirsty or hungry to drink.
Weight Loss – Drinking optimal amounts of water instead of chemical and sugar laden beverages is a key component in any weight loss plan. Research indicates that drinking water before meals helps you lose excess weight.
Kidney Stones – Not drinking enough water is the number one cause of painful kidney stones.
Skin Care – Drinking water hydrates your skin from the inside out, thus promoting a radiant glow and warding off premature aging and wrinkling.
Is your water safe?
Not any water will do. Drinking pure water is imperative. Your tap water could be a harmful cocktail of heavy metals, such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and fluoride, pharmaceuticals, chromium 6, industrial and agricultural chemicals, and other pollutants like disinfectant byproducts.
Tap water isn’t the only water at risk of containing toxic chemicals. If you have natural spring water or well water, have it tested to see what contaminants need to be removed.
Be selective when choosing a filtering/purification system as some don’t remove all the toxins. Bacteria such as E. Coli, viruses, parasites, and microorganisms are also a concern. Just because your glass of water looks crystal clear doesn’t mean that it’s safe to drink.
The good news! There’s an effective, and easy way to clean-up your tap water.
